Acceptable Use Policy
ZewstPay processes payments for legitimate businesses operating in the United States and Canada. This policy lists activities we prohibit. It supplements (and does not replace) card-network rules, applicable laws, and our Terms of Service.
Prohibited businesses and activities
You may not use ZewstPay to:
- Process transactions that violate U.S. or Canadian federal, state, provincial, or municipal law, or that violate the rules of Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or any other payment network.
- Sell or distribute illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or controlled substances; or cannabis products in jurisdictions where federal law prohibits their sale.
- Sell firearms, firearm parts, ammunition, explosives, or weapons in violation of federal, state, or provincial law.
- Engage in or facilitate gambling, lotteries, sweepstakes, or fantasy sports operations not licensed in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Sell or distribute adult content, escort services, sexual services, or pornography.
- Engage in unlicensed financial services including money transmission, foreign-exchange, currency conversion, lending, factoring, or check-cashing.
- Sell or distribute counterfeit goods, pirated digital content, stolen property, or any item that infringes intellectual property.
- Operate multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes, get-rich-quick programs, or matrix marketing.
- Process payments for tobacco products, e-cigarettes, or vaping products without compliance with all applicable age-verification and import restrictions.
- Operate cryptocurrency exchanges, ICOs, mining services, or cryptocurrency-derivative trading.
- Engage in deceptive marketing, including unsubstantiated health or income claims, fake testimonials, or hidden subscription billing.
- Sell goods or services that you cannot deliver, that are materially different from what you advertise, or that violate consumer-protection laws.
- Process transactions for third parties or aggregate payments on behalf of unrelated merchants without an approved platform agreement with us.
- Engage in transaction laundering — processing transactions on behalf of an unapproved merchant or for unrelated business activity.
- Conduct activities subject to OFAC sanctions, including any dealings with sanctioned countries, entities, or individuals.
Card-network and AML compliance
You must comply with the rules of the card networks you accept (Visa Core Rules, Mastercard Rules, etc.) and with U.S. and Canadian anti-money-laundering laws including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN regulations (US), and the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (Canada).
Account behavior
You also may not:
- Misrepresent your identity, business, or location.
- Manipulate transaction data, including splitting transactions to stay below limits or backdating charges.
- Attempt to bypass our security controls or those of our payment processor.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from any ZewstPay client or service.
- Use ZewstPay APIs in a way that materially burdens our infrastructure (rate-limit abuse, scraping, denial-of-service).
Enforcement
Violations may result in transaction holds, account suspension, termination, reporting to card networks (which can affect your ability to obtain merchant accounts elsewhere), and reporting to law enforcement.
